July 2008 Update

Ryan has been very busy with his racing and has had some very good results, however the BYMX Championship seemed to put him under too much pressure and none of us were finding them much fun. We decided to give the Leuchers (Scotland) round a miss, hopefully taking any pressure off Ryan. This seemed to work as we did the Woodford round last weekend and Ryan qualified 10th and generally had some good rides, a bit off bad luck with a puncture in the first and a couple of falls in the last - finished 16th overall - very happy and best result to date in the Nationals.

His club rounds are very consistent, his confidence is booming and he has regular finishes in the top 3.

March 2008 Update

16th March - Great Sherwood (Cheshire North West Club)
Ryan rode at Sherwood Forest at the weekend with the Cheshire North West Club and had another win.

9th March - Great Salkeld
The weekend was good but could have been better, I kept making silly mistakes and kept falling off.  Racing was at Great Salkeld, weather good and track in good condition.  I finished 3rd overall. Wasn't such a bad day after all!

February 2008 Update

17th February - Brampton (East Cumbria MX Club)
A great days racing, better than expected with this being my first meeting of the season.  I finished 4th overall.  The track was in good condition and it felt good to be back on my bike.

24th February - Norley (Cheshire North West)
Track in great condition, even after a heavy shower first thing in the morning.  A good line up with a few people who I had not raced with for a while.  A better day than expected with my first overall win of the 2008 season.

November 2007 Update

What a season, I have done much better than I ever imagined I would!

The whole season has been fun, I have met some great new friends from up Cumbria and have benefited from riding with some of the best lads in the country. I’ve had to work hard but have noticed my skills and riding style have improved since being in the Big Wheel class. I usually have a couple of months off my bike over the winter but not sure if I will this year – I think if I do then I will not be on the pace at the start of the season and I can’t afford not to be.

I did the WBR again this year and led the first lap for a couple of dunes, I then hit one wrong and got stuck. I had a good ride and finished 9th overall. I was a little bit disappointed because I know I could have done better.

I would like to thank everyone who has encouraged me this year and can’t wait to compete in the 2008 BYMX Championship.

2007 Motocross update

During 2007 I will be riding mainly in Cumbria at Brampton, Great Salteld and Haverigg. The reason behind this is that some of the fastest riders ride up there. I have a lot to learm from these boys (and girls!) but intend to close up on them by the end of the season.

There will be no British Championship in 2007 as we are saving up for 2008's effort.

2006 Motocross update (March 2006)

My priority in 2006 is competing in the BYMX Championships.  I haven't been on my bike much through the winter so will have to pick up a lot more speed just to qualify.  Hopefully now I will be riding most weekends, my calendar is looking full with BYMX, Vale MXC, Newton-Le-willows MXC & True Grit Off Road.

Please keep checking back to find out how my season progresses!

Motocross Update (September 2005)

Vale MX Club Round 8 & 9 @ Garstang - 2nd on both days

Vale Classic 2 day meeting 24/25th September 2005 - after day 1, I was joint 1st, after day 2 I was the overall winner - This is my first M/X Title (hopefully a few more to come). A very good weekend, slept in the van Friday and Saturday, took my BMX and ramp, I am getting to know more and more lads at the Vale and having lots of fun. The last round is at Armthorpe on October 23rd, I need to beat Lewis Parkinson - it might be tough, he is a very good rider, he was on fire at Garstang, he is 2 points in front in the Club Championship.
